Manage construction costs, valuations, subcontract accounts and variations across UCC projects in Jordan.
Scope
- Manage civil and building project costs from inception to final account, controlling expenditure and maximising timely revenue while maintaining constructive employer/subcontractor relationships.
Responsibilities
- Build project-specific civil, construction, quantity-surveying, commercial and contractual knowledge and administer subcontractors under company procedures.
- Gather progress information from site and technical teams and manage client site instructions and variations.
- Submit payment applications by their deadlines and prepare and monitor cash flow and budgets at least monthly.
- Provide contractual/commercial support, correspondence and evidence supporting client instructions and interim valuations.
- Complete monthly cost/value reconciliations, cost-to-complete reports and profit forecasts within one week of valuation submission.
- Place subcontracts using approved terms and templates within the available cost allowance.
- Collect subcontractor interim applications on time, incorporate them into company applications, and process payment certificates without exceeding amounts claimed or certified by the client.
- Follow and coordinate package preparation and tender procedures; ensure scope changes have signed variations and secure corresponding payments or deductions on a back-to-back basis with the main contract.
Qualifications and skills
- A bachelor’s degree in civil engineering or engineering and a professional quantity-surveying or related qualification.
- At least eight years of total experience, including five years of relevant work. Two years in the GCC is an advantage.
- Computer-based measurement experience, including CCS/Candy, and effective AutoCAD quantity take-off skills.
- Microsoft Office proficiency and preparation of bills of quantities using standard measurement methods.
- Knowledge of Principles of Measurement (International) 1979, NRM2, CESSMMIII, QSSM, QCS and FIDIC as named in the employer advert.
- ERP knowledge is required; functional SAP skills are preferred.

- Level-three competencies in contract administration, main/subcontract payments, subcontract agreements, variations, claims and subcontracting.
