Manage technical procurement, supplier evaluation, negotiations and timely materials and equipment delivery for UCC projects in Jordan.
Responsibilities
- Develop procurement strategies around project objectives, cost and quality, working with project managers, engineers and stakeholders to establish needs.
- Research markets, assess and qualify new and existing suppliers, and negotiate contracts, prices and terms.
- Review technical specifications and drawings to match purchases with project and engineering requirements.
- Manage requisitions through delivery, including orders, shipment tracking and delivery problem resolution.
- Audit supplier performance and contract/quality compliance, improve processes and identify savings.
- Coach junior procurement staff in purchasing, supplier management and negotiation and maintain complete records under organisational and regulatory requirements.
- Support health, safety and environmental initiatives, awareness activities and incident reporting and resolution under company and integrated-management-system policies.
Qualifications and skills
- An engineering bachelor’s degree and a professional supply-chain/logistics qualification or related technical certificate.
- At least eight years of total experience, including five years of relevant work. Two years in the GCC is an advantage.
- Strong sourcing, tendering and negotiation skills, with technical knowledge to assess engineering specifications.
- Analytical ability to evaluate bids and costs, negotiate favourable quality and delivery terms, and communicate technical requirements across teams and suppliers.
- ERP knowledge is required; functional SAP skills are preferred.
