Role

• Join EY’s Valuation, Modelling and Economics team to support business planning, strategic value creation, transactions and financial reporting through market analysis, valuations and financial models.

Responsibilities

• Address commercial questions arising from acquisitions, business management and transformation plans. Identify, quantify and explain business value and provide corporate-finance advice that supports growth.
• Advise on acquisitions, disposals and restructuring, including fairness opinions.
• Value acquired intangible assets and financial assets for accounting and fair-value reporting purposes.
• Build financial models from the ground up, ideally for real estate, and apply IFRS requirements for fair value, business combinations and impairment.
• Develop client relationships, work independently and keep Directors and Partners informed proactively. Contribute to business development and the development of colleagues.

Required qualifications

• A bachelor’s or master’s degree in finance, economics, accounting or business.
• At least six years of business modelling experience.
• A solution-focused approach to complex problems and demanding projects, including work outside your usual area of expertise.
• Ability to build financial models from scratch and understand the relevant financial-reporting requirements.

Preferred qualifications

• Valuation experience in professional services or a Big Four firm, and experience coaching junior and senior colleagues.
• Real estate financial modelling, knowledge of GCC markets and business-development experience.
• CFA or an equivalent professional qualification, such as RICS or CBV.
