Lead mechanical engineering at UCC in Jordan, supporting project design, investment delivery, budgets and risk management. At least eight years’ experience required.
Responsibilities
- Lead the mechanical engineering team, guide mechanical-system design and development and coordinate across disciplines.
- Support potential investments by defining scope, stages, budgets, quality and timing and contributing to procurement, investment control and commercial matters.
- Provide technical input to headquarters and site teams under contract terms and represent mechanical-engineering matters in client and third-party dealings within delegated authority.
- Provide technical, operational and managerial leadership to deliver investments against plans and forecasts and develop systems that track objectives, progress and obstacles.
- Plan, monitor and analyse performance metrics for efficient, timely delivery.
- Manage client, joint-venture and key stakeholder communication and requirements, maintaining compliance with company policies, legislation and professional standards.
- Own technical inputs to budgets and baselines and prepare consolidated reports covering decisions, challenges, risks and mitigations.
- Work with functional managers during development, implementation and operation and review and approve all mechanical design activities.
- Manage risks to avoid delays and reputational harm and support HSE initiatives, awareness, incident reporting and resolution.
Qualifications and experience
- Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering.
- At least eight years of work experience, including five years in a relevant supervisory role. Two years of GCC experience is an advantage.
- Proficiency in CAD and relevant tools, with detailed knowledge of mechanical systems, materials and manufacturing processes.
- Problem-solving, analysis, communication and team leadership, with the ability to manage several projects simultaneously.
- ERP knowledge, preferably functional SAP skills.
