Lead sales strategy, client relationships, commercial opportunities and team performance to grow revenue at InterContinental Amman.
Responsibilities
- Develop and implement the sales strategy, identify business opportunities and improve performance through seasonal demand changes.
- Use market intelligence to increase occupancy, average rates, business volume and food, beverage and banquet sales.
- Prepare daily, weekly and monthly reports and forecasts covering accounts and trends and share performance with the Director of Sales and Marketing.
- Achieve individual and team targets, grow profitability and market share and build key client and external relationships.
- Develop hotel showcases, events and sales blitzes and attend local and national trade shows to develop new business.
- Communicate VIP and group requirements to departments and promote additional services, facilities and offers.
- Work with business leaders, officials and community representatives to maintain the hotel’s profile, promote sustainability and reputation and occasionally represent it for media enquiries.
Qualifications and experience
- A bachelor’s degree in business administration, hospitality management, marketing, sales or a related subject is preferred.
- The advert specifies a minimum of five to seven years in hotel sales, preferably in an international or luxury environment.
- Previous experience as Senior Sales Manager, Associate Director of Sales, Director of Sales or an equivalent role.
- Strong knowledge of Jordan’s corporate, government, diplomatic, leisure and MICE markets.
- A record of achieving targets, developing key accounts and managing and developing a sales team, with strong hotel revenue-management and commercial knowledge.
- Excellent negotiation, presentation, communication, business-development and networking skills, plus MS Office and hotel sales/CRM expertise.
- Fluent Arabic and English are preferred.
