Design and operate Red Hat hybrid-cloud platforms with EY in Amman. Five or more years of experience and hands-on OpenShift, RHEL and Ansible expertise required.
Work location
Amman, Jordan.
Role
- Join EY’s Cloud and Technology Consulting practice in Amman to design, build, operate and improve Red Hat platforms across on-premises, hybrid and public-cloud environments for enterprise, government and regulated-sector clients in the Middle East.
- This hands-on, client-facing role combines platform engineering, architecture, automation, reliability and governance, translating business, security and regulatory needs into scalable solutions.
Platform architecture and engineering
- Design and implement OpenShift in data centres and public cloud, including hybrid and multi-cluster environments.
- Maintain RHEL standard operating environments, hardened images, patch baselines and lifecycle management through Red Hat Satellite.
- Automate infrastructure with Ansible Automation Platform and GitOps tools such as Argo CD and OpenShift GitOps.
- Design ingress, service mesh, API-gateway integrations, container registries, secrets management and certificate lifecycles.
- Define hybrid connectivity, workload placement and business-continuity and disaster-recovery patterns.
Operations and reliability
- Support production operations, cluster upgrades, capacity, performance, incidents and problems.
- Implement monitoring and logging with Prometheus, Grafana and OpenShift, integrated with enterprise SIEM and ITSM tools.
- Define service levels, contribute root-cause analysis and continuous improvement, and develop runbooks, automated remediation and handover materials.
Open banking and digital platforms
- Provide foundations for API and microservices workloads, including high availability, mTLS, OAuth2.0, rate limiting and consent management.
- Meet availability, performance, auditability and data-residency requirements, and work with API, integration and digital teams on non-functional needs, environment strategy and CI/CD pipelines.
Governance, risk and compliance
- Embed security and regulatory controls in platform design and operations.
- Implement compliance-as-code using OpenShift controls, Advanced Cluster Security, Advanced Cluster Management policies and automated scanning.
- Support audits and regulatory reviews with documented controls, evidence and remediation tracking.
- Maintain vulnerability and patch management and contribute to cloud, data-residency, sovereignty and third-party risk assessments.
Consulting delivery
- Participate in client workshops, design-authority reviews and technical discussions, presenting recommendations to technology, architecture, security and risk stakeholders.
- Produce high- and low-level designs, architecture decision records, operating models and migration roadmaps.
- Contribute proposals, solution designs, estimates, demonstrations, proofs of concept and reusable reference architectures.
- Develop EY’s cloud and Red Hat capabilities through reusable assets, knowledge sharing and coaching.
Required qualifications
- At least five years in infrastructure, platform or cloud engineering, or solution architecture, including hands-on OpenShift implementation and operations.
- Strong RHEL, OpenShift, Ansible Automation Platform and Satellite knowledge.
- Hybrid-environment experience combining on-premises infrastructure with at least one public cloud, such as Azure, AWS or Google Cloud.
- Solid Kubernetes networking, storage, role-based access and admission-control knowledge.
- Experience applying security, risk, audit or compliance controls in enterprise or regulated environments.
- Understanding of OAuth2.0, OIDC and mTLS for APIs and microservices.
- Automation and scripting with Ansible, Bash or Python; Terraform is an advantage.
- Strong communication, structured problem-solving, technical documentation and stakeholder management.
- A relevant degree or equivalent professional experience. Red Hat certifications are strongly preferred.
- Excellent written and spoken English; Arabic is advantageous.
Preferred experience
- Advanced Cluster Management, Advanced Cluster Security, OpenShift Service Mesh, Quay or OpenShift Virtualization.
