Job description

Lead enterprise delivery with Mendix at Avertra. Combine process modelling, hands-on engineering and mentoring to produce reusable, maintainable solutions.

Responsibilities

  • Lead or contribute to software design, coding, interfaces, testing, installation and support using Mendix; work with architects and analysts on technical requirements and documentation.
  • Model processes from business requirements, analyze UML, build reusable/custom components and integrations, and produce and review effort estimates.
  • Review colleagues’ process designs, explain alternatives and change impacts, support production incidents and releases and lead prototypes and proof-of-concept work.
  • Guide Mendix, Java, UI and mobile developers, coach the team on delivery practices, contribute to appraisals and technical proposals and provide project-level technical direction.

Required and preferred qualifications

  • Bachelor’s in computer science, industrial engineering or similar; 8+ years modelling and documenting processes/BPMN, and 8+ years designing, coding and maintaining object-oriented software.
  • Understand BPMN and BPM tools such as Camunda, UML, software lifecycles, data mapping/modelling, interface design, web services and microservice architecture.
  • Backend/frontend coding with Java or C# and JavaScript, plus CSS/Bootstrap styling; analyze requirements and design suitable solutions.
  • Experience with small-team management, external-service integration and Agile/Scrum; advanced English, coaching, leadership, time management and independent/teamwork skills.
  • Willingness to collaborate across sites/time zones in a fast environment; proactive problem-solving and continuous learning.
  • Preferred: utilities knowledge, UML/XML/web services, BPMN or Mendix certification, and experience with Mendix, OutSystems or another low-code platform.

Schedule and travel

  • Follow Avertra’s local office schedule; occasional travel may be required for projects.
