Role and responsibilities
- Contribute to client proposals and daily engagements addressing accounting, reporting and operational issues.
- Provide specialist financial-instrument input to external audits, advise on complex treasury transactions, and develop practical hedge-accounting and derivative-valuation solutions.
- Give treasurers and CFOs independent advice and assurance on controls throughout the treasury lifecycle.
- Support high-quality audits from planning to reporting, including derivative valuations, hedge accounting, IFRS 9/FRS 102 treatment and impairment models; manage treasury-function audits end to end.
- Resolve complex technical accounting and audit questions, maintain corporate-client relationships and collaborate across service lines and geographies on relevant market and client solutions.
- Improve treasury-audit methodology through innovation and constructive challenge, anticipate client needs with strategic insight and work effectively in inclusive, diverse teams.
- Use AI appropriately in audit work, including prompt engineering and structured problem-solving. Validate accuracy, completeness and suitability before using outputs and follow Responsible AI, confidentiality, data-integrity and approved-tool requirements.
Requirements
- Working knowledge of treasury, financial-reporting processes and internal controls, with financial-instrument valuation and/or hedge-accounting experience.
- An appropriate accounting qualification, such as ACA or equivalent, or ongoing study toward it, and thorough IFRS knowledge.
- Commitment to audit quality and demonstrated professional scepticism, with a record of excellent client relationships.
- Strong reporting, presentation, interpersonal and written/spoken communication skills, project management, initiative, adaptability and problem-solving.
- Working knowledge of IAS 39, IFRS 9 and FRS 102 sections 11/12 is desirable. No numerical minimum experience is stated.
