Role overview

The United Nations Resident Coordinator System seeks a Programme Management Officer (Regional Policy Specialist), P-4, in Amman. The role supports regional policy development, sustainable development programmes and SDG financing.

Key responsibilities

• Develop, monitor and evaluate regional programmes and policy initiatives.
• Research development challenges and prepare policy advice, analytical reports and briefings.
• Coordinate with regional offices, United Nations country teams, governments and development partners.
• Support partnerships, knowledge sharing and field missions.

Qualifications

• A relevant master's degree or equivalent; a first university degree with qualifying experience may be accepted.
• At least seven years of progressively responsible experience in programme or project management, sustainable development, public policy, economic analysis, development cooperation or a related area.
• English is required; Arabic is desirable.

Eligibility and appointment
