Radar Technician – ATCALS and C2

Role and location

Full-time, on-site Amentum position in Amman, Jordan. Requisition R0167559.

Responsibilities

Install, maintain, diagnose and repair ground radar and airfield platforms, including traffic-control and warning radar, radios, weather systems and navigation aids. Resolve installation and modification problems and test equipment to restore service.

Use schematics and equipment characteristics for accurate alignment and calibration. Follow maintenance and safety publications, inspect components, record readings and maintenance data and manage supplies.

Qualifications and eligibility

Secondary education or equivalent; a relevant associate degree is preferred. Formal military, vocational or four-year apprenticeship electronics training and experience with the equipment are required.

Four years of recent practical experience with relevant equipment/electronic systems are required. Maintaining COMSEC/IP networking equipment requires the stated IAT Level II certification under AFMAN 17-1303.

US citizenship is required for the mandated US Secret clearance, which must be obtained/maintained. Candidates must meet CENTCOM medical-examination requirements.

Technical scope and equipment

The position covers ATCALS and C2 installation, repair and modification, including line-of-sight and tropospheric-scatter techniques. The Level I technician requirement is four years of recent relevant practical experience with maintained equipment and four years working on electronic systems. The scope includes the equipment below and the systems in Tables 4.5.2, 4.5.3 and 4.5.5.
