Responsibilities

• Investigate theft, fraud, missing property, noise, assault, food-poisoning complaints and other incidents; gather evidence and interview relevant parties.
• Notify management, police or other appropriate responders and document losses, hazards, alarms and security incidents.
• Address interruptions involving suspicious people, disturbances, demonstrations or intoxication; escort unwelcome persons out while minimizing disruption.
• De-escalate guest or employee disputes, summon authorities where needed, document events and retrieve or enter records through computers/POS systems.
• Additional jurisdiction-specific licensing or registration may apply.

Qualifications and experience

• High school or equivalent preferred. No related experience required.
• Supervisory experience is not required.
• No licence or professional certification is specified.

• Protect confidential information, hotel assets and guest/colleague privacy.
• Report accidents, injuries, hazards or maintenance needs relevant to the role.
• Collaborate respectfully across teams, respond to colleague concerns and support shared goals.
• Carry out other reasonable duties assigned by the supervisor.

Physical and practical requirements

• Lift, carry, push, pull and move loads up to 50 lb without assistance.
• Handle loads above 75 lb with assistance.
• Prolonged standing, sitting or walking, potentially throughout a shift.
• Move over sloping or uneven and slippery surfaces.
• Access narrow, confined or elevated areas.
• Use stairs and service ramps.
• Reach above head and below knees, bending, twisting, pulling and stooping.
• Manipulate objects using fine motor control and hand-eye coordination.
• Walk, jog or run at the speed needed for incidents.
• Read and visually check information, including small print where specified.
• Visually examine tools and machinery for defects.
