Responsibilities

• Patrol the property, secure entrances when required and assist room access; monitor CCTV and perimeter, duress and fire alarms.
• Inspect and resolve hazards, respond to accidents, summon medical help or provide first aid/CPR where required and support guests and employees during emergencies.
• De-escalate disturbances, request coded assistance and notify relevant parties; handle complaints and escort unwelcome people out without disrupting operations.
• Attend vehicle accidents/thefts, investigate, collect evidence and interview relevant parties.
• Produce incident reports and shift/activity summaries, restrict disclosure to authorized recipients and maintain computer/POS records.
• Additional local licensing or registration requirements may apply.

Qualifications and experience

• High school or equivalent preferred. No related experience required.
• Supervisory experience is not required.
• No licence or professional certification is specified.

Physical and practical requirements

• Lift, carry, push, pull and move loads up to 50 lb without assistance.
• Handle loads above 75 lb with assistance.
• Prolonged standing, sitting or walking, potentially throughout a shift.
• Move over sloping or uneven and slippery surfaces.
• Access narrow, confined or elevated areas.
• Use stairs and service ramps.
• Reach above head and below knees, bending, twisting, pulling and stooping.
• Manipulate objects using fine motor control and hand-eye coordination.
• Walk, jog or run at the speed needed for incidents.
• Read and visually check information, including small print where specified.
• Visually examine tools and machinery for defects.
