Anti-Money Laundering and Counter-Terrorist Financing Unit Manager

Lead Bank of Jordan’s anti-money-laundering and counter-terrorist-financing programme. The role combines team leadership with practical oversight of controls, investigations and reporting.

Responsibilities

• Lead the AML/TF team and programme, maintain policies and controls against local and international rules, and track changes in legislation and good practice.
• Assess and mitigate risks; oversee customer due diligence and approval of higher-risk relationships; conduct periodic control reviews and internal audits.
• Investigate suspicious transactions and report promptly; train employees and coordinate with management, regulators, law enforcement and other stakeholders.
• Prepare the reports required by senior management and regulatory authorities.

Required and preferred qualifications

• Bachelor’s in finance, law or a relevant field and at least 8 years in AML/TF compliance, preferably banking; a master’s or specialist professional certification is an advantage.
• Previous unit/team leadership and strong knowledge of legislation, customer and enhanced due diligence, KYC and monitoring systems.
• Strong investigation, analysis, judgement and attention to detail, with clear communication, independent and cross-team working, confidentiality and discretion.
