Role and team
- Design and position SITA Airports solutions across the Middle East and Africa, supporting digital transformation and operational excellence with innovative, scalable and resilient airport technology that improves passenger experience.
- Report to the Solution Engineering Director within SITA Airports Solutions. Work with Sales, Product, Architecture and Delivery to develop pre-sales proposals aligned with industry standards and SITA architecture.
- This regular, full-time position is in Amman. The portfolio spans passenger processing, biometrics/digital identity, baggage management, airport operations and smart-airport initiatives.
Responsibilities
- Support solution design and positioning across MEA with Sales, Product, Architecture and Delivery.
- Lead and support pre-sales qualification, solution shaping, proposals, workshops and RFP/RFI/RFQ responses.
- Translate airport operating requirements into robust, scalable solutions using SITA’s portfolio across passenger processing, biometrics, digital identity, baggage, airport operations and smart airports.
- Engage customers through technical workshops, solution presentations and demonstrations to develop opportunities.
- Define integration across airport, airline, cloud, infrastructure, network, API and third-party systems.
- Meet round-the-clock operational needs through resilience, availability, scalability and maintainability.
- Identify technical risks, dependencies and compliance requirements during design and proposal preparation.
- Align designs with ICAO, IATA and ACI standards/regulations and SITA architectural principles. Follow developments in biometrics, digital identity, automation, cloud and AI-supported airport operations.
Experience and qualifications
- Four to five years in IT, aviation/air-transport technology, airport systems or solution engineering/pre-sales.
- A bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Information Technology, Telecommunications or equivalent.
- Relevant certifications, for example TOGAF, AWS/Azure/GCP cloud, virtualisation/infrastructure such as VMware, or cybersecurity such as Security+ and foundation-level CISSP awareness. These are examples of relevant certification areas, not a requirement to hold every listed certificate.
- Strong systems-integration, API, multi-vendor and enterprise IT understanding. Substantial airport or aviation exposure is highly preferred.
- Solid knowledge of passenger processing, biometrics, baggage systems, airport operations and integration platforms.
- Customer-facing pre-sales experience covering workshops, proposals and RFP/RFI responses; analytical, structured problem solving, collaboration and adaptability.
Desirable experience
- Airport, airline, aviation or large-scale mission-critical operating environments.
- Familiarity with ICAO, IATA and ACI industry frameworks and standards.
- Understanding of airport digital-transformation programmes, smart-airport initiatives or passenger-experience modernisation.
