This Operations Officer supports the INSO Palestine programme from Amman, Jordan. INSO provides humanitarian organisations with safety information, analysis, coordination, crisis support and training. The officer assists the Country Administration Manager as part of Operations.
The role covers HR, logistics, procurement and administration. Jordanian citizenship and residence in Jordan are required, together with at least three years of relevant experience.
Support purchasing with Operations/Programme teams under standard procedures and complete documentation. Identify suppliers, collect and circulate quotations, analyse bids, issue orders and maintain paper/electronic procurement records.
Arrange event, workshop and training logistics and service agreements. Manage office space, equipment and assets, update inventories and quarterly reports, tag assets and track movements, perform physical checks twice yearly and monitor vehicle logs.
Arrange staff travel, transport, accommodation and team events, maintain central records and support policy implementation. Prepare purchase requests, quotes, orders and goods-received documents for finance, and assist compliance, donor due diligence and regulatory duties.
Book flights for staff and goods, ensure travel documentation, liaise with flight partners/travel agents and submit invoices promptly. Perform other necessary administrative work.
Assist short/long-term recruitment, selection, training and induction. Maintain staff files, trackers and databases, support Cezanne and timesheets, follow international staff work/residence permits and social-security procedures, and act as the health-insurance contact.
A degree in business, supply chain, HR, logistics or a related field and at least three years of relevant experience, preferably in NGOs. Excellent English/local-language communication, Microsoft Office, accuracy and multitasking are essential, with knowledge of Palestinian Authority labour and NGO-registration rules.
Additional languages, autonomy, openness, confidence and humanitarian understanding are desirable. The role needs confidentiality, integrity, conflict-of-interest awareness, courtesy, self-motivation, teamwork, planning, flexibility, initiative, pressure management and cross-cultural communication.
