Chef de Partie – Pastry

About the role

CHEF DE PARTIE/PASTRY at Mövenpick Tala Bay, Aqaba, Jordan.

Responsibilities

• Support pastry production of desserts, cakes, breads and baked items, preparing ingredients and mise en place to prescribed recipes, portions, flavour, texture and presentation standards.
• Assist baking, decoration, finishing and plating; check freshness and report shortages or damaged ingredients.
• Keep the pastry section/equipment clean, apply HACCP and food-safety controls, label/date/rotate stored ingredients and products, manage stock and minimise waste.
• Assist other sections during busy service, use equipment safely, report maintenance needs, attend training and follow hotel rules and reasonable assignments from kitchen leaders.

Qualifications and working requirements

• Pastry/bakery experience is preferred and culinary/pastry training advantageous. Basic baking, decoration, presentation, food-hygiene and HACCP knowledge.
• Organisation, communication, teamwork, creativity and attention to quality/detail; willingness to learn and work in a busy kitchen with flexible shifts, weekends and public holidays.

The role reports to the section chef, pastry chef or executive chef.
