QA Specialist Engineer – Tamatem Plus

Role

• Take responsibility for the quality, security and transaction accuracy of the Tamatem Plus Store and its payment flows. Investigate the store, payment gateways, APIs, wallets, inventory and dashboards across frontend, backend and database layers.

Payment testing and quality ownership

• Own assigned features from requirements review and risk assessment through test execution, release readiness and production validation.
• Test complete payment journeys across providers, covering initiation, checkout, payment popups, hosted and embedded pages, redirects, SDK and server-to-server flows, status changes, refunds and chargebacks.
• Validate API and integration payloads, headers, authentication, error handling, business rules and security controls, including API keys, HMAC signatures and request-tampering protection.
• Exercise timeouts, interrupted payments, duplicate or out-of-order webhooks, retries and simultaneous purchases to identify duplicate charges and inconsistent records.
• Check settlements, fees, exchange rates, payouts, invoices and reports, as well as wallet funding and deductions, vouchers, inventory and delivery of items to games and partners.

Investigation, automation and process improvement

• Use SQL, logs, API traces and browser developer tools for root-cause analysis, and test background and scheduled jobs.
• Develop and maintain Playwright automation for critical journeys, API validation and regression coverage.
• Maintain test cases linked to Jira, communicate risks and coverage gaps, and help improve QA practices.

Required qualifications

• A bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering or an equivalent qualification.
• Three to four years of hands-on software QA experience, including strong experience with fintech, payment gateways or transactional systems.
• Strong grounding in risk-based testing, test design, defect management and release validation.
• Hands-on Playwright experience for UI tests, API validation and regression testing.
• API testing with Postman or Swagger/OpenAPI, including negative cases and security scenarios.
• Strong understanding of payment lifecycles, transaction statuses, webhooks, server-to-server communication, redirects and embedded checkout.
• Strong SQL and relational-database knowledge, including joins, aggregation, keys, constraints and relationships, with the ability to validate models against business logic.
• Experience applying AI tools to test design, automation and defect investigation, while critically reviewing and validating their outputs.

Preferred qualifications

• Performance testing with JMeter or Locust, and familiarity with CI/CD, Git, PostgreSQL, Django, Sentry or ELK.
• Experience testing reconciliation, settlements or invoicing, or building mock services and webhook receivers to simulate payment providers.
• ISTQB certification or relevant financial-testing qualifications, and experience with digital commerce, vouchers or game purchases.
