Remote full-time opportunity open to Jordan-based candidates, supporting programme finance, grant budgets and donor compliance. Apply by 16 October.
Responsibilities
- Partner with assigned country offices on financial decisions across the programme and award lifecycle.
- Lead reviews of proposal budgets, narratives, cost allocation and donor submissions to support compliance, sustainability and full cost recovery.
- Assess funding opportunities, financial exposure, recovery of costs and operational feasibility during proposal go/no-go decisions.
- Analyse budget against actual expenditure, monitor funding pipelines and prepare forecasts; identify risks and recommend corrective action.
- Help country offices prepare multi-year budgets and funding forecasts, identifying gaps and portfolio growth opportunities.
- Check grants and partnerships against donor rules, organisational policies and financial procedures.
- Contribute financial insight to portfolio, country-programme and award-management reviews.
- Assist with audit preparation, risk mitigation, award close-outs and implementation of audit recommendations.
- Train and mentor country teams on donor compliance, financial management and grant budgeting.
Qualifications and skills
- A degree in finance, accounting, business administration or a related discipline.
- Substantial programme-finance, grant-finance and donor-award experience in an international NGO or nonprofit.
- Demonstrable expertise in donor compliance, proposal budgets, award finances, budget revisions, funded and no-cost extensions, and financial reporting.
- Strong knowledge of institutional donors’ financial rules and requirements.
- Experience supporting country finance colleagues and collaborating with programme, award and partnership teams.
- Excellent financial analysis, risk identification and practical recommendations for portfolio performance.
- Strong spoken and written English and clear communication of complex finance topics to non-specialists.
- Advanced Excel and financial-system skills; Oracle NetSuite, donor reporting formats and grant-tracking systems are strongly preferred.
- Arabic and/or French is an advantage.
Contract, location and application
- Full-time remote employment, open to residents of countries where Relief International operates, including Jordan. A timezone between the UK and Jordan is preferred; international travel may reach 20%.
- Reports to the Program Finance Director and works with country finance managers, programme desks, award management and partnerships on multi-country donor portfolios.
