Role and practice
- Based in Amman, this Associate / Senior Associate opportunity supports PwC’s Risk Consulting practice and reports to managers and more senior colleagues. The team covers internal audit, enterprise risk management, governance, policies and procedures, financial-reporting controls, process intelligence, compliance, technology risk and cybersecurity.
Responsibilities
- Advise clients on risk and internal controls, strengthening control maturity through practical internal-audit and risk-management strategies.
- Work with diverse teams from audit planning to completion; track assigned work against deadlines and internal performance indicators.
- Understand client objectives, systems, regulatory obligations and control frameworks to identify significant risks, shape the audit methodology and improve business processes.
- Build client and internal relationships, reflect the firm’s values and research opportunities with existing and prospective clients.
- Manage engagement budgets, financial performance, teams and stakeholder communication. Design and execute testing plans, assess control effectiveness and communicate improvements clearly.
- Support clients on site with planning, implementing and administering internal-audit plans, including compliance, financial and operational audits.
- Test whether controls are appropriately designed and operate effectively. Write audit findings, their impact and associated risks, with actionable recommendations.
- Develop internal-audit, risk and control services; deliver engagements within agreed time and cost, and help establish or improve clients’ audit and control functions.
- Study business functions, collect relevant information and assess output requirements and formats.
- Review associates’ work, provide on-the-job coaching and constructive feedback, and maintain compliance, quality and independence.
- Continue professional learning and digital development, and undertake additional procedures needed to support assurance deliverables.
Qualifications and experience
- A degree in Accounting, Finance, Risk Management, Governance, Industrial Engineering or a related discipline.
- The vacancy describes progressive experience at Senior Associate level or three to six years in internal audit; experience with a Big Four professional-services firm is preferred.
- Completed or ongoing study for CIA, CPA, CRMA, CFE, CGRCP, PMP or CMA is an advantage.
- Written and spoken proficiency in both Arabic and English, with strong communication, presentation, interpersonal, report-writing and analytical skills.
- Business-development and client-relationship skills, a willingness to challenge established practices constructively and respect for diverse colleagues and perspectives.
- Strong technical knowledge; ability to investigate issues and present alternatives and conclusions to clients or managers. A background in governance, risk and compliance and current understanding of business challenges are required.
- Experience assessing and testing control design and effectiveness. Project-management capability to lead engagements end to end, working directly with the partner and manager.
- Audit-technology knowledge and experience with data-analysis tools are advantages.
- Ability and willingness to travel frequently within the Middle East and internationally when assignments require it.
