Senior Manager – Cloud Infrastructure Architecture

Lead secure Azure infrastructure and automation at PwC in Amman. At least ten years’ cloud-infrastructure experience and fluent English required.

Strategy and design

• Set Azure strategy, standards and reference architectures, including landing zones, hub-and-spoke and Well-Architected patterns, and lead adoption.
• Mentor engineers and architects, lead design/code reviews and deliver secure, scalable, cost-efficient infrastructure under Cloud Adoption and Well-Architected frameworks.
• Build reusable, policy-compliant Terraform and Bicep modules for repeatable, auditable deployments. Use Claude Code or similar assistants to accelerate authoring, refactoring and documentation with appropriate review and security safeguards.

Delivery and operations

• Design virtual networks, subnets, security groups, private endpoints, Private Link, private DNS, peering, VPN/ExpressRoute, Azure Firewall and secure ingress/egress, keeping PaaS access private and segmented.
• Translate solution architectures into development, staging and production environments, promote lab environments into managed platforms and lead formal handover to Cloud Operations.
• Govern Azure DevOps/GitHub infrastructure pipelines with automated validation, policy-as-code and controlled promotion.
• Embed Entra ID, RBAC, managed identities, Key Vault, Azure Policy, tagging, encryption, least privilege and zero trust.
• Establish Azure Monitor, Log Analytics and Application Insights observability and handover-ready access, documentation and runbooks.
• Optimise costs through right-sizing, automation and FinOps; advise senior stakeholders, shape the roadmap and improve tools, standards, naming and reusable modules.

Requirements

• At least ten years designing, provisioning and operating cloud infrastructure, with deep hands-on Azure experience in Agile, product-focused delivery.
• Enterprise Terraform/Bicep delivery, multi-project infrastructure leadership, collaboration with solution/enterprise architects, technical mentoring, standards and design/code reviews.
• A bachelor’s or master’s in Computer Science, Engineering or a related field. AZ-305 and/or AZ-104 are preferred; AZ-700 is an advantage.
• Core Azure IaaS/PaaS expertise: compute, storage, networking, Key Vault, App Service, Functions, API Management, ACR, ACI and AKS.
• Terraform HCL, modules and state; Bicep modules, ARM and policy pre-flight validation; NSG/ASG, Private Link/DNS, hub-and-spoke, VPN/ExpressRoute, firewall and load balancing.
• Proficiency in AI-assisted IaC using Claude Code or tools such as GitHub Copilot; Azure DevOps/GitHub YAML, GitOps and policy-as-code.
• Identity/security controls, PowerShell, Bash and/or Python, Azure CLI, Docker and Kubernetes/AKS, monitoring and cloud frameworks.
• AWS/GCP exposure, FinOps, Open Policy Agent, infrastructure-testing frameworks, enterprise landing zones and disaster-recovery/business-continuity RTO/RPO design are desirable.

Skills, language and travel

• Combine strategic perspective with detail, analytical troubleshooting, cross-team collaboration, clear communication/documentation and dependable client-focused delivery.
• Fluent written and spoken English is required; Arabic is preferred. Be flexible about working away from the base office and frequent overnight stays.
