Power Plant Operator - Service Agreement

Arab Potash seeks a Power Plant Operator in Karak on a service purchase agreement, requiring an electrical engineering diploma and at least three years of experience.

Power plant operating responsibilities

• Run and monitor thermal plant equipment under approved procedures and supervisor instructions, coordinating operating conditions with the shift team.
• Carry out routine inspections of operating indicators, electrical equipment and distribution-panel areas.
• Keep accurate shift records of readings, equipment condition, completed work and nonconformities.
• Report alarms, leaks, faults and unusual conditions immediately and take the actions authorized by operating instructions.
• Perform equipment starts, stops, transfers and routine operating adjustments within delegated limits.
• Prepare equipment for maintenance and safely return it to service under work-permit and isolation requirements.
• Operate chemical-injection systems and prepare, receive and unload materials safely.
• Collect laboratory samples and implement adjustments based on approved test results.
• Receive fuel, check delivery documents, connect hoses, operate pumps and monitor tank levels.
• Follow company quality, environmental, occupational health and safety procedures and applicable ISO standards, including personal protective equipment requirements.
• Maintain an orderly and clean site after maintenance and at shift end, and complete related duties assigned by the supervisor.

Qualifications and conditions

• Diploma in Electrical Engineering with at least three years of practical experience.
• English knowledge, work discipline and reliability.
• Applicants must be non-smokers and pass the required assessments and interviews.
• Jordanian nationality is listed as a candidate preference; the advertised career level is entry level.
