Responsibilities

• Operate washing, dry-cleaning and drying machinery and add chemicals; identify stained/damaged items for repair, spot treatment, rewashing or disposal.
• Inspect finished items, transfer them to clean carts and set dryer time/temperature for the fabric.
• Clear lint, filters and drain traps after each load, fold items manually or mechanically and keep processing records.
• Inspect equipment and develop improvements in quality, safety, productivity, efficiency and costs.

Qualifications and experience

• No high-school qualification required. No related experience required.
• Supervisory experience is not required.
• No licence or professional certification is specified.

Working standards

• Follow company policies and safety/quality standards with professional dress, presentation and communication.
• Protect confidential information, hotel assets and guest/colleague privacy.
• Report accidents, injuries, hazards or maintenance needs relevant to the role.
• Complete required safety training and certifications.
• Collaborate respectfully across teams, respond to colleague concerns and support shared goals.
• Carry out other reasonable duties assigned by the supervisor.

Physical and practical requirements

• Lift, carry, push, pull and move loads up to 25 lb without assistance.
• Prolonged standing, sitting or walking, potentially throughout a shift.
• Move over sloping or uneven and slippery surfaces.
• Access narrow, confined or elevated areas.
• Use stairs and service ramps.
• Reach above head and below knees, bending, twisting, pulling and stooping.
• Visually examine tools and machinery for defects.
