Job description

Join IKEA Jordan full-time in Amman to lead daily accounting, period-end closing, financial reporting and finance-team support.

Scope

  • Support the Finance Manager by taking ownership of accurate daily accounts and local compliance within a department responsible for annual audit, budgeting and financial planning.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate daily accounting, prepare/review/post journal entries, and keep general-ledger accounts updated and reconciled.
  • Analyse financial information for management and complete monthly, half-yearly and annual closing and reporting on schedule.
  • Prepare and review income statements, balance sheets and cash-flow statements under IFRS.
  • Manage payables, receivables and master data and reconcile purchases, sales and payments.
  • Monitor bank and cash balances, maintain suitable operating funds and ensure timely payments to suppliers, employees and authorities under agreed terms.
  • Prepare ad hoc internal/external reports and audit schedules and work with external auditors on statements, filings and compliance deadlines.
  • Coordinate with tax advisers, banks, insurers and other external parties.
  • Lead accountants, coordinate with other departments, and contribute to projects that simplify and automate financial operations and reporting.
  • Participate in annual budgets and maintain links with local and global IKEA functions.

Qualifications and experience

  • A bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting or a related discipline and five or more years of accounting experience.
  • Completed or partial CA, CIMA, ACCA, CPA or equivalent professional qualifications are preferred.
  • English proficiency is required, together with strong IFRS knowledge.
  • Experience leading a team, excellent communication and interpersonal skills and Microsoft Office proficiency, especially Excel.
  • Microsoft Dynamics or other ERP experience is preferred.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced setting and meet deadlines.
