A full-time Amman opportunity at Hitachi Energy to develop substation BIM models, coordinate engineering information and produce quantities.
Scope
- Develop engineering information models for substation projects through tender, design, construction and as-built stages.
Responsibilities
- Produce discipline BIM models to the BIM Execution Plan and Task Information Delivery Plan, meeting each stage’s required LOD and LOI.
- Populate accurate geometry, attributes, parameters and metadata and follow model structure, classification, BIM naming and shared-parameter standards.
- Self-check before submission and publish or update models in the Common Data Environment through WIP, Shared and Published workflows.
- Support model federation, clash detection and issue resolution, closing assigned clashes and model issues within agreed deadlines.
- Implement traceable design changes, control versions and update history, and keep information containers aligned with approved inputs.
- Coordinate with the BIM Coordinator, discipline leads, project engineers and stakeholders on interfaces, technical requirements and priorities.
- Participate in coordination meetings, model reviews and quality audits and deliver outputs to programme.
- Generate or estimate bills of quantities and materials from models.
Required qualifications
- A bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering.
- Five to six years of overall experience, including three to four years in BIM processes.
- Strong Revit modelling and exposure to Autodesk Construction Cloud, with the ability to read and create layouts, plans, sections and detailed drawings.
- BIM authoring in Revit or discipline tools such as Tekla or Civil 3D and creation and maintenance of parametric families, templates, schedules and quantities.
- Understanding of LOD/LOI, staged information delivery, drawings, specifications and EIR requirements.
- Clear technical, written and verbal communication, responsiveness to coordination feedback and discipline in following defined workflows.
Advantageous experience
- Understanding of BEP, TIDP, CDE workflows and permissions, and accurate information-container naming, versioning and status tagging.
- Preparing 2D or 3D substation layouts covering AIS/GIS equipment, earthing, cable routing, lightning protection, electrical clearances, cut-outs, civil guides and foundations.
- Exposure to 33/132/220/400 kV AIS and GIS projects.
