Finance Director, Retail – Amman

A confidential Amman retailer seeks a Finance Director with 15+years in financial planning, branch profitability, accounting and cash management.

Scope

• Lead finance for multi-branch retail and wholesale operations in Amman, reference JOR-457. Compensation is market-based without a published figure.

Responsibilities

• Direct corporate financial planning, annual budgets, rolling forecasts and board-level reporting.
• Oversee daily accounting, liquidity, working-capital cycles and company-wide cost control.
• Analyse cost of goods, branch P&Ls and pricing; manage supplier payment cycles, inventory accounting including commodities, green beans and packaging, and stock reconciliation audits.
• Maintain Jordanian tax/labour and IFRS compliance and serve as liaison with banks, auditors and tax advisers.
• Supervise monthly/yearly closes and audited statements, establish retail KPIs and structure, lead and mentor finance/accounting staff.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s in finance, accounting or a related field; CPA, CMA or MBA strongly preferred.
• At least 15 years of progressive finance experience with substantial leadership in multi-branch retail, FMCG or F&B.
• Advanced financial modelling, strong cost accounting and ERP skills, preferably SAP Business One.
