Role and contract
- Report to the Finance Manager and support regional financial management, donor compliance, risk management and service improvement.
- Based in Amman, Jordan, on an eight-month fixed-term, full-time agreement of 35 hours per week.

Responsibilities
- Carry out high-quality finance duties supporting the regional hub and the countries it follows.
- Manage transactions through multiple bank accounts and currencies and review processes to maintain coherent, consistent financial information.
- Support financial monitoring, donor reporting and compliance across country programmes collaboratively.
- Build partners’ financial capacity with appropriate training and trust-based relationships that consider their perspectives.
- Apply institutional-donor financial rules across programmes and coordinate with finance colleagues in other countries to standardise processes.
- Implement established financial procedures in line with organisational goals and values, maintain financial information, analyse routine issues and discrepancies and explain financial practice clearly.
- Work with local programme colleagues, local and internal auditors, partners, suppliers and external auditors.
Essential qualifications
- Degree or equivalent and partial professional qualification with a recognised accountancy body, such as CPA or ACCA.
- Substantial experience in financial-accounting procedures, writing and reviewing reports and preparing and monitoring budgets.
- Demonstrated financial-training experience using varied methodologies.
- Experience with Excel, word processing and accounting-reporting tools and developed analytical ability to interpret financial information and investigate discrepancies.
- Fluent written and spoken Arabic and English, as specified for Jordan posts in the attached official role profile.
Desirable qualifications
- Knowledge of donor requirements, local partners, NGOs and development.
- Institutional-donor fund-accounting experience and use of computerised reporting systems.
- Partial qualification with an IFAC-recognised accountancy body and a training-related qualification.
