About Tamkeen for Legal Aid and Human Rights
Established in 2007, Tamkeen for Legal Aid and Human Rights is an independent Jordanian non-governmental civil society organization. It specializes in labour, migration and combating human trafficking, guided by equality, justice and human rights.
Tamkeen uses a rights-based approach that combines empowering rights holders and stakeholders with influencing duty bearers. Its work seeks lasting improvements in protection for Jordanian workers, migrants, refugees and victims of human trafficking.
Activities include legal aid, awareness and research on labour and social protection. It publishes studies, position papers and knowledge resources and operates a Social Protection Observatory. Its office is on Madinah Street in Amman.
