The Royal Institute for Inter-Faith Studies was established in Amman in 1994 under the patronage of Prince El Hassan bin Talal. A non-governmental, non-profit institution, it provides a setting for interdisciplinary research on religious and cultural issues, mutual understanding and shared human values.
Its work has expanded from Muslim-Christian relations in the Arab world to a wider range of humanities and social sciences. Research programmes, dialogue, projects and workshops are complemented by publications, academic journals and a library, with networks connecting scholars, practitioners and religious leaders.
