Established in 2000, the National Committee for Demining and Rehabilitation coordinates and supervises mine-action and explosive-remnants-of-war programmes in Jordan. Its work combines hazard removal with community protection and efforts to reduce the social, economic and environmental effects of these remnants.
Its mandate covers survey, verification, clearance, risk education and assistance to survivors and victims, alongside training and technical support. The committee works with national bodies and humanitarian partners on standards, procedures and the exchange of regional and international expertise.
