About Jordanian Women’s Union
The Jordanian Women’s Union traces its origins to 1945. Following periods of re-establishment and renewed activity, it adopted its current name in 1994. It promotes women’s rights and equal citizenship and challenges discrimination and violence.
The union combines awareness, advocacy and legislative reform work with programmes and services for women. Its activities include counselling, protection and productive projects, supported by branches, partners and local and regional alliances.
