The first law establishing Jordan Press Association was issued in 1953. The association brings together journalists from newspapers, news agencies, radio and television, and foreign press correspondents, representing their interests and strengthening professional cooperation.
Its activities span training, press freedoms, professional affairs and cultural and social programmes, with a mechanism for reporting violations and services for members. Meetings and participation within Jordan and abroad connect the association with Arab and international journalist organizations for professional exchange and cooperation.
