About Higher Council for the Rights of Persons with Disabilities
The council was established in 2007 under its former disability-affairs mandate and adopted its current name following the 2017 Law on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities. It serves as Jordan’s national reference for disability-rights policy and monitoring its implementation.
HCD provides technical and knowledge-based support to executive bodies, monitors the situation of persons with disabilities and develops policy proposals with relevant institutions. This work supports participation and inclusion across different areas of life and improved service quality. In addition to its Amman headquarters, it maintains offices serving northern and southern Jordan.
