The most common job interview questions and how to answer them with confidence

Most interviews share the same core questions whatever the field. Preparing for them in advance gives you confidence and makes your answers clear and convincing.

“Tell us about yourself”

Give a one-minute summary: your field, your key experience, one achievement related to the job, and why you applied for this role.

“Why do you want to work here?”

Research the company beforehand and connect your answer to what makes it different and what you can add.

“What are your strengths and weaknesses?”

Pick a job-related strength backed by an example, and a genuine but non-critical weakness together with what you are doing to improve it.

“Tell us about a difficult situation at work”

Use the STAR method: Situation, Task, Action, Result.

“What salary do you expect?”

Research typical salaries for the same title in Jordan and give a reasonable range rather than a single number.

“Do you have any questions?”

Prepare at least two, such as “What does a typical day look like?” or “What are the priorities for the first three months?”.
